Nepalese Himalayan range including the Mt. Everest locally known
as Sagarmatha. Moreover, a convergence of more than 1300
magnificent pinnacles and peaks of the Himalaya over 6000 meters
high has made Nepal magnet for all kinds of mountaineers from
casual to daring from all over the world. Thus, Nepal is
Shangri-La for all mountain lovers from tough mountaineers to
hardy trekkers to just casual backpackers and to adventure
spirited canyoneers. Superb view of the Himalaya, scenic rugged

green fertile plain land bordering India are very interesting
for tourists and special holiday makers. |

Due to extreme variation in geography (from 70m to 8848m),
climate and water system, an amazing bio-diversity is found and
vegetation ranges from sub tropical to alpine. Hence, Nepal is
astonishingly rich and varied in flora and fauna. Over 6,500
flowering plants, 175 mammals, 850 birds, 180 fish and 640
butterfly species are found here. Large tracts of forested land
are preserved as national parks and wildlife reserves where
endangered species like the Royal Bengal tiger and the Greater
one-horned rhinoceros roam freely along with an amazing variety
of mammals and reptiles that include bear, leopards, Himalayan
thar, musk deer, hyenas, wild boar, wild elephants, monitor
lizards, crocodiles, pythons, turtles, various species of
monkeys, birds, insects etc. Climatic conditions within Nepal
vary from one place to another in accordance with the
geographical features. In the north, summers are cool and
winters severe, while in the south summers are sub-tropical and
winters mild. Along the mid hill region from the east through
the west, both summers and winters are mild. The monsoon that
brings rain from June through September affects most of the
country except those that lie in the rain-shadow areas like
Mustang, Dolpo which are within Nepal but a part of the Tibetan
plateau. Nepal is an invaluable treasure for nature lovers and
researchers.
The Himalayan snow fed mighty rivers winding through the rugged
awesome hills offer a challenging white water rafting, kayaking
and other water sports. |

distinct ethnic groups of people with their own unique culture,
costumes and traditions. More than 92 different languages are
still spoken. Nepal is also known as home of countless gods and
land of numerous colorful festivals and is very rich in art and
culture manifested with high spiritual values. Age-old
traditions with colorful and varied cultural activities go on
never ending round the year. Every other day is a festival here.
Hundreds and thousand of years old temples, monuments and
monasteries mostly devoted to Buddhism and Hinduism are still

prehistoric rich civilization. Many medieval towns, and villages
