Himaland Adventure Treks P. Ltd. is a government-registered company licensed by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal and has been organizing holiday package trips – both soft and adventure since 2000. It is affiliated with and active members of Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN), Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), Nepal Canyoning Association (NCA) and Sustainable Tourism Network (STN) under Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). The company's management consists of highly qualified and long experienced founder directors themselves with support of well motivated and experienced field staff makes a very competent team that is highly appreciated by HAT clients for it's efficiency and dedication. This is how we have been able to keep our group of clientele as repeat visitors for a long period of time – some of them more than 20 years especially from North America and Europe. The secret behind such a sustained success is undoubtedly our professional and personalized service.



All founder directors; Tilak B. Lama, Sonar Singh Karki and Dilli B. Gurung have proven records of achievements in organizing and leading treks, tours and other special interest package trips + office management in their uninterrupted career in travel and tourism fields. All our field staff, cooks and guides are not only trained and certified but, also get regular refresher courses. Our guides speak many languages – English, German, Italian, French, and Spanish in addition to local and other regional languages. The Himaland team is well organized with a perfect combination of 25 years long working experiences and high academic & management knowledge led by Tilak Lama.


Tilak Lama:

Tilak B Lama born in a remote village of mid hilly region of Nepal - Kavre started his professional career by working in the field as an assistant-trekking-guide in 1983. Since then, he has been working continuously in travel trade industry in different capacities – trekking guide, tour officer, accountant, overland travel consultant and so on. With his extensive field experiences on different trek and tour routes and a long working experience on office management plus highly qualified academic background – MBA, a university degree enriched his knowledge & skill which have been valuable in leading the Himaland team and the company to cater professional and personalized service. He speaks five languages; Tamang, Nepali, English, German and Hindi.



By active involvement in different tourism organizations like; TAAN, STN - NTB, NMA and NCA, Mr Lama's contribution towards responsible and sustainable tourism and innovative tourism product development has also established himself as one of the knowledgeable leaders in Nepal's tourism industry.


His extensive travel experiences in Europe, America, South East Asia and South Asia has given him lots of experience to have insight knowledge about people of different cultural, social and economic backgrounds and moreover, many different ways of life around the world. These experiences have been invaluable assets for understanding the varied needs and interests of a traveler or a tourist.

 Sonar Singh Karki:

Another founder director - Sonar Singh Karki, a native of Solukhumbu, Nepal – a remote district in the Himalayan region is also a trained trekking guide. Since 1983 when he started working as a junior field trek staff, there has been no looking back. His long experiences on numerous trek routes of Nepal including a cross country trek in different capacities – kitchen boy, assistant trek guide, cook and guide (Sirdar) has made him a matured trek manager. His mountaineering trainings under NMA enabled him put himself atop many Himalayan peaks including Nayakhang, Chulu West and Imja– Tse (Island Peak). Mr Karki has also insight knowledge about the tastes and interests of people from different parts of the world from his extensive travel around the world.

 Dilli B Gurung:

Dilli B Gurung also born in and grown up in the rugged and remote district of Nepal – Solukhumbu is one of the founder directors. His tryst with trekking started in 1985 and has been working non stop in deferent capacities in the trekking and mountaineering field. He has guided many trek groups especially from Europe on countless trek routes of Nepal and Tibet. His mountaineering training and long experience on high altitude treks have made him successful in climbing several peaks in the Himalaya and Alps. Mr Gurung's first-hand experience on many remote trek routes has made him an expert on programming unique trek itineraries. He is fluent in four languages. He has widely traveled in Europe and has also working experiences there.

One of the added advantages to the management team is their insight knowledge about tastes and interests of western clients. The important knowledge they gained by traveling extensively through Europe and North America


Field / Outdoor Staff:
Service of the field staff plays an important role to make a successful trip whether an adventurous trekking or a Himalayan expedition or a soft cultural tour or just a pleasure casual trip. We are proud of our long experienced and well motivated friendly staff - guides, cooks, assistants and porters. Many of them like; Ratna, Buddha, Pemba, Bhakta, Deepak, Kalu, Kanchha, Serkyang, Norbu, Pasang, Sangeeta, Bina, Kumar, Baral, Damai Singh and many more are ever favorite equally among new and repeat clients and are highly praised for their excellent service. Some of them have experiences of more than 25 years. They are on duty and attentive to your overall welfare round the clock while on the trips. To keep their skills and knowledge upgraded, we provide them regularly different kinds of trainings on safety, hygiene, guiding, cooking, mountaineering, first-aid, environment etc. We have been working together with high team spirit for the last 15 years.


Equipment:
Our out-door camping equipment: tents (sleeping, kitchen, dining, toilet ), sleeping bags, utensils etc. are of high quality, up to date and well maintained ensuring comfort and safety of the clients. On the high pass treks and mountaineering trips, all our staff and porters are well outfitted with warm and proper gears. Transport vehicles used for all transfers, sightseeings and excursion trips are also well maintained and of excellent condition for smooth travel.
